Cyd Vicious Bitmead
25 December 1982 - 6 January 1998
RIP

At Flynn, Cyd could not be contacted by email because her family would not let her downstairs, where the computer is, anymore since the regrettable incident on the carpet in 1987. At O'Connor she still cannot be reached by email because the wooden floor in the computer room has yet to be polished. Her master has offered to collect her email and to read them into her increasingly dysfunctional ears.

In November 1996, Cyd was joined by the Devon Rex cat, Olive Vicious Bitmead, in O'Connor. She is still too small to have her own web page, though. Besides, she acts immature and plays in the litter tray.

Poor liitle Ollie died on July 15 of feline AIDS. Cyd now has outlasted another sibling. At least the fish, once known as Alfred but now known as Millie is till kicking around after about five years.  Sid (Cyd), Olly (Ollie) and Millie are the unnaturally cute mascots for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Couldn't they even think up some original names? At least my family has sensible mascots: a dog a cat and a fish. When was the last time you patted an echidna?

Cyd's Research Interests

As you can see from this photo, living in Australia for so long has caused me to acquire the posture of a kangaroo when sitting.
Très élégant, n'est ce pas?

On January 6, 1998, Cyd Vicious died on the operating table at the vet. She outlasted her two curly-cat sisters, Ollie and Reg, and is survived by her Canberra Black brother, Sam Bucca Tiki Bitmead. She enjoyed her final Christmas/birthday spent visiting the families in Sydney. She made her last trip to Belconnen garbage tip the day before she died.

Her track worn around the house is now grown over and the hole in the hedge is closing. But she will always be remembered.
